+ How often should you have music lessons?
We recommend weekly lessons which give them time to review and study and move forward in the next weekly lesson.
+ Where will the lessons be held?
The lessons are held in The Note Room Academy of Music at 4734 W. Creedance Blvd, Glendale, AZ 85310.
+ What is a good age to start music lessons?
The average age is 5 years old and up. The most crucial issue is that the child knows his/her alphabet and can stay focused for at least 20 minutes.
+ How do you teach private music lessons?
The private lessons consist of one teacher and one student. If the parents would like to be present, that is fine. There is also a waiting room for them if they prefer.
+ Do I need anything before I start my first lesson?
Just an instrument to practice on, we will get all other materials for you.
+ What kind of music will I be studying?
Anything you are aiming to learn! The method books are statistically designed to assist in your learning to play anything. It will teach you to read, count. It will enable you to move forward and be very aware of what you are doing and need to do. Our teachers all have different specialties they can assist with as well.
+ What musical instruments do you teach?
Piano, Guitar, Voice, Violin and soon drums.
+ Do I need my own musical instrument for lessons?
Yes. You must have an instrument that you are comfortable with. Practice is crucial to the learning process. You should bring your instrument to your lesson each week. (Amps are provided for electric instruments) The only exceptions are with keyboard/piano and drums.
+ How long does it take to learn an instrument?
The period of time that a student is enrolled in the program varies. The more a person wishes to learn the longer they will take lessons. The basic fundamentals can take about a year on average. However, music is a science that can be studied for a lifetime.
+ How do you differ from other music schools?
Our goal as teachers is to make sure each student learns very solid basics which will enable them to move forward in whatever genre that they choose as they move along on their musical journey. If they wish to study classical music, they will have the Arizona Study Program that will reinforce theory and the technical skills to move in that direction. If they want to study a more contemporary format, they will have the background to do that as well. We provide recitals and performances throughout the year that will enable them to experience performance for their friends and family. We believe in our students and make every effort to set them up to be successful in all of their musical endeavors.
+ How much practice should my child do each week?
That depends largely on the age of the child. A very young child will be expected to practice much less than a high school student that is the Study Program. As They progress, they will need more time devoted.
